What is CLICKBAIT..??? Its the previous or Front Pics that appears on youtube videos when you are about to finish.When you click you are taken to the previous videos or latest videos...The bedt part is for the SAME channel
Clickbait is most effective when you can get like a few thousand likes in the first 24 hours as well as tens of thousands of views, because at this stage youtube will recommend your videos to others a lot more and thats when clickbait has a snowball effect, if you dont get many views in the first place then even the biggest clickbait in the world wont give you enough traction to make a video go 'viral'
until then just make great content
ClickBait has many challeges...The reason is because clickbait implies a deception. Youtube's changed its entire ranking system to counter this by making "watch time" the most relevant metric. What a lot of people fail to consider when producing content are the expectations set by the video title and thumbnail, and if a video doesn't meet those expectations, 1. people will bail out quickly (hence affecting watch time), and 2. you lose potential fans because you're untrustworthy. Clickbait's good for viral videos and channels that want to attract gullible audiences, but not for sustainable growth. Back when views were the most relevant metric, sure, but not anymore.
What some people have mentioned is using a "hook" instead. The difference is the lack of deception. The reality is, if you need to deceive to get views, then that's a red flag that the content is crap. Good content should sell itself. That's not to say you can't bend the rules, but you have to smart about it. You just have to make sure that the expectations of your title are met. Business is like all other business. If you buy a product and what you get isn't what's advertised on the box, then you won't buy from them again. If they advertise a 10/10 and it's a solid 8, then you might let things slide.
